Great Thrush

The Great Thrush (Turdus fuscater) is the largest thrush in South America and a highly common and conspicuous resident of the Colombian Andes. Ranging from 28 to 33 centimeters in length, it is easily recognized by its dark olive-brown plumage, bright yellow-orange bill and legs, and a distinctive yellow eye-ring in males. It is a bold, vocal, and highly adaptable territorial bird, occupying habitats from cloud forest edges to urban gardens, parks, and agricultural lands. Its rich, varied, and melodious song is frequently heard at dawn and dusk.
