Myiozetetes cayanensis

Rusty-margined Flycatcher

The Rusty-margined Flycatcher (Myiozetetes cayanensis) is an active and vocal bird, closely resembling the Great Kiskadee but smaller in size. It features bright yellow underparts, a white throat, and a black crown with a concealed orange or red crest. Its most defining characteristic is the prominent rusty or cinnamon-colored margins on its wing feathers, which help distinguish it from similar-looking flycatchers. It is commonly found in forest edges, open areas with scattered trees, and near water bodies, where it can often be seen perched in natural locations.
